A Tim Hortons promotional mug sold in Canada has been recalled after reports that it can crack or break when filled with hot liquid, creating a burn hazard.

Health Canada posted the recall on March 16, 2026. The recall involves the Tim Hortons Pink and White Colour Changing Donut Mug, a 16-ounce white ceramic mug with a donut design on both sides. The inside of the mug and the handle are pink, and the chocolate dip donut decal changes colour when a warm drink is poured in, revealing one of four donut designs.

According to the recall notice, consumers should stop using the mug right away and return it to a Tim Hortons restaurant in Canada for a full refund.

Why the mug was recalled

Health Canada says the mug may crack or break during use or while holding hot liquid. That can expose the user to hot spills and possible burns.

As of March 10, 2026, the company had received 28 reports of incidents in Canada linked to the mug. It also reported one burn injury.

What buyers should do

Anyone who bought the recalled mug should immediately stop using it.

Consumers can return the mug to a Tim Hortons restaurant location by April 22, 2026 for a full refund. The recall notice says returns may still be accepted after that date.

For purchases made at a Tim Hortons restaurant in Canada, customers can contact the company through its support page. For mugs bought through Timshop.ca, customers are being asked to contact Support @ timshop.ca.

How to identify the recalled mug

The affected product is described as:

  • a 16 oz white ceramic mug
  • donut design on the front and back
  • pink interior and pink handle
  • colour-changing chocolate dip donut decal that reveals one of four donut designs when heated

The mug was sold at Tim Hortons locations across Canada and online through Timshop.ca.

The recalled mug was sold in Canada from January 2026 to February 2026.

Health Canada says 25,040 units were sold in Canada.
